We are frequently asked if our saddle bags are insulated. While they are not, we've partnered with PackIt® to offer a simple solution that fits perfectly inside our saddle bags.
The PackIt® Freezable Classic Lunch Box features patented ECOFREEZE® Technology with freezable gel built directly into the walls of the bag. Simply fold it flat and place it in your freezer overnight. The next day, load it with drinks, snacks, sandwiches, or trail lunches and place it inside your saddle bags. No separate ice packs are required.
Why We Like It Better Than Ice
Traditional coolers and ice packs eventually melt, leaving water that can soak food packaging, leak into your gear, and create a mess inside your saddle bags. The PackIt® Lunch Box eliminates the need for loose ice or separate ice packs.
After testing these ourselves, we found they typically keep food and drinks cold for approximately 5–7 hours, making them ideal for day rides, burro races, hunting trips, and afternoons on the trail. Because the cooling technology is built directly into the walls of the bag, you get more usable storage space and don't have to sacrifice room for bulky ice packs.
Simply freeze the bag overnight, load your food and beverages in the morning, and hit the trail. No melting ice, no soggy sandwiches, and no extra weight from ice-filled containers.
