ComfortStride Pack Saddle®
Floating Bar Setup (Factory Configuration)
Your saddle is shipped with the bars set to float, allowing them to pivot slightly and follow the movement of your animal’s back.
Flat washers are installed to allow this movement.
Fixed Bar Setup
If you prefer the bars to remain fixed, you may tighten them using the NORD-LOCK® washers included.
To secure the bars:

Remove the flat washers currently installed.

Install the NORD-LOCK® wedge-lock washers.

Place the saddle on the animal’s back without a pad and position it properly behind the shoulder blade.

Tighten the 5/16” pivot bolt.

For a solid fit, an impact drill may be used to tighten the bolt securely.
Once tightened, the bars will remain fixed and secure during use.
The Medium TrailBreeze Pad works great with this saddle.

The ComfortStride® Pack Saddle was designed with one goal in mind: build a strong, dependable pack saddle that works well for both the packer and the animal.
During development we sought feedback from experienced packers and outfitters who have spent years working with horses, mules, and donkeys. Their observations helped guide several aspects of the design, including the arch structure, bar configuration, and overall saddle geometry.
The result is a saddle built with practical use in mind—strong where it needs to be, stable under load, and designed to work naturally with the animal.
